1. 概要
仮想環境で、試験して、問題ないことが確認できましたので、実機の方のバージョンアップにはいります。
ちなみに、「ports」は、毎日更新して、最新に保つようにしています。
期日は、2024年12月22日。
2. パッチをあてる
パッチをあてておきます。

わはは、更新前のバージョンは、確認しておりませんでしたが、「FreeBSD 14.1-RELEASE-p5」になっております。
3. バックアップ
データベースのバックアップは、一通りとっておきます。
仮想環境でも構わないので、十分なディスク容量のあるマシンを用意して、システムのフルバックアップをとっておきます。
バックアップの方法は、「メンテナンス・トラブルシュート - システムバックアップ - バックアップ」をご参照ください。
実は、このマシンは、「zfs」だったので、「FreeBSD - メンテナンス・トラブルシュート - zfs」の方法で、バックアップしましたが。
4. バージョンアップ
これ、「GENERIC」なので、カーネルは不要のはず。
バージョンアップ。
freebsd-update -r 14.2-RELEASE upgrade
ここのメッセージややりとりは、前ページと同様ですので、割愛します（以下同文）。
終わったら。
/usr/sbin/freebsd-update install
終わったら。
reboot
再起動後。
/usr/sbin/freebsd-update install
これが、2時間ほどかかりました。
前ページより早いのは、スペックの違いでしょう。
終わって、バージョンを確認。
$ uname -a
FreeBSD マシン名 14.2-RELEASE FreeBSD 14.2-RELEASE releng/14.2-n269506-c8918d6c7412 GENERIC amd64
前項の作業から、だいぶ時間がたっているためか、「FreeBSD 14.2 RELEASE p3」まで、あがっておりました。
5. 後始末
パッチを確認します。
freebsd-update fetch
この時点では、発生していませんでした。

特に、更新対象はありませんでした。
「service」に登録しているプログラムも、全員、元気に動いているようです。
