1.　概要

　デスクトップ環境である以上、ブラウザが使えるのはもちろんのこと、メディアプレイヤーはほしいところです。

　「Linux」環境をいれて「RealPlayer」」をインストールするという手もあります。
　デスクトップの種類によっては、「VLC」がバンドルされているものもあります。

　「SMPlayer」は、「Windows」版もあるマルチプラットフォームのマルチメディアプレイヤーです。。

　Windows マシンで「Windows Media Player」をはじめ「Ouick Time」「Real Player」「GOM Plyaer」「VLC Media Player」等、いろいろと使ってきましたが、SMPlayer を使ってみたらこれが結構使い勝手がよく、デフォルトで音楽の音がよく響きます。
　コーデックもバンドルされているようですし、これはおすすめかなと思います。

2.　パッケージ

　「pkg」コマンドでインストールするのであれば


pkg install smplayer


　「OctoPkg」でインストールするのであれば「smplayer」で検索して「smplayer」を右クリック(下図で選択状態のもの)して、インストールします。

　他のプレイヤーを操作したことがあれば、大体直感的に操作できるかと思います。

3.　パッケージが存在しない場合

　2018年12月26日、パッケージをインストールしようとしたら・・・ないのです。


$ pkg search smplayer
smplayer-skins-15.2.0,1        Skins for SMPlayer (Skinnable GUI)
smplayer-themes-16.8.0,1       Themes for SMPlayer


　「ports」を見ると、「ports」には存在している模様・・・。


> whereis smplayer
smplayer: /usr/ports/multimedia/smplayer


　仕方ないので、「ports」でインストールしてみます。


cd /usr/ports/multimedia/smplayer
make config


　とりあえず、デフォルトのままとしておきます。

cd /usr/ports/multimedia/smplayer
make
make install


　make の途中で何度か他のモジュールのオプションもきかれますが、すべてデフォルトのままにしました。

　2018年12月27日時のインストール時のメッセージを記録しておきます。

　インストールしたら、FreeBSD 12.0 RELEASE 上の MATE 1.20.0 ではそのままメニューに組み込まれて、起動できるようになりました。

　見た目に少し変化をつけたい場合は、下記の追加パッケージをインストールします。
